Dr. Mick Abaé is a Board-Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist who completed medical school at New York Medical College, followed by residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at St. Vincent’s Hospital, NY, and a three-year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Vermont.
After spending 2 years as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, he left in 1993 to create the Center for Advance Reproductive Endocrinology (CARE) in Plantation, and to establish the standard for personalized patient care in the South Florida infertility community. In August 1998, he founded the Laboratory for Implantation, Fertilization, & Embryology (L.I.F.E.) in order to provide the highest quality of Andrology & Embryology services to his patients.
Dr. Abaé is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), and the Florida Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists. He has continued to maintain an active research program in areas such as endometriosis, laparoscopic surgery, in vitro fertilization and male factor infertility. On several occasions, he has been selected to present the results of this work at the annual conferences of the ASRM, ESHRE, and the International Endometriosis Society, among others. Dr. Abaé remains committed to providing his patients with the latest developments in clinical and laboratory services in a caring and compassionate environment.
Harold F. Rodriguez, Ph.D., H.C.L.D., E.L.D.
Director of ART Laboratory
Dr. Harold F. Rodriguez is one of the most experienced embryologists in the United States. He has been in the practice of human assisted reproduction as a clinical embryologist for over 15 years. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and Texas A&M University, and he is board certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director with specialties in Clinical Andrology and Embryology. Throughout his career, Dr Rodriguez has been directly involved with over 4,500 in vitro fertilization cycles in the US and abroad. He has performed ICSI on well over 20,000 oocytes and is an expert on all currently available assisted reproduction techniques such as selective laser assisted hatching, blastocyst culture, blastocyst biopsy, pre-implantation embryo screening and cryopreservation (freezing) techniques such as vitrification of oocytes which he implemented in our laboratories in 2006.
As Director of our Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratories, Dr. Rodriguez oversees and is directly involved with the daily operation of our Andrology and In Vitro Fertilization Laboratories. On several occasions he has developed and presented the results of clinical trials at the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), an entity of which he is also an active member. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is also a member of the International Embryo Transfer Society, the College of Reproductive Biology (CRB), the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
